Much like my post about NYX Macaron Lippies, this review breaks my usual form somewhat. But, I NEED to talk about how amazing this product is. Like, what is even happening here? I first saw these teased on the NYX Facebook page back in July. People commented on the photo of the test samples begging to know when the real deal would be released (myself included, using all caps). In September, NYX announced an October release of this line.
Unlike my usual purchases, I did not buy all the collection in one go. There were two silvers and some blues and purples I avoided due to similar colors in my collection (OCC Lip Tar in Technopagan and MAC Viva Glam II by Rihanna). I'm actually quite impressed with myself for showing some restraint, but I have learned over the years that sometimes you do not need EVERYTHING in the collection. You can view the entire Wicked collection here.
All of my swatches are done with MAC Prep+Prime for lips and the Sephora clear lip pencil. Photographed in natural sunlight.
Power is a beautiful muted rose with silver pearl.
Wrath is a dense, shimmery copper. Incredibly opaque. I wore this to a fall wedding and it's such a great alternative to a dark fall lip color.
Gold. Get fabulous. Mischievous requires a few swipes to build opacity. Lovely hue.
Trickery and Wrath are my favorite hues of the bunch. A metallic olive is a really wonderful shade.
I've never loved a metallic green lip so much before. Hurry up, Christmas.
Metallic blue-purple, nearly identical to OCC Lip Tar in Pagan.
On a final note, I love how creamy these colors are. They don't dry out your lips. Swipe a corresponding lip pencil on (or a clear one) and you're golden! Preventative measures like lip liners or a primer will extend the wear time, which I find critical for alternative colors. Having leftover purple lipstick caught in the dry parts of you lips is not flattering.
That is all. Short, sweet and metallic. Treat yoself.
