Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Shameless
I never thought my hunt for the perfect purple would lead me to Target. This shit is VAAAAAMMPPPYYY. This was a whim of a find, and I squeed so hard when I swatched it. My inspiration was taken from the luscious locks of Leela, the cyclops pilot from Futurama. I looked online and pored through tubes at Sephora in an attempt to uncover that perfect violet. The closest I got was a beautiful lipstick from Lancome, which is a bit more springy.
Enter Revlon matte balms, with their glorious twist up action and fat pigmented tubes of pepperminty goodness. This color is everything I've wanted in a dark purple: bruised, damn near blackened, but still purple enough to the eye.
It's been rainy and cold all week, so I capitalized on the opportunity to revert to a more dreary palette. I think I also had Clara Bow on the mind, but opted for a neutral, light eye instead of a darkened one and paired the shimmery taupeyness of Sidecar with the moody weight of Shameless. IT'S JUST SO PERFECT.
