Was having such an awful day yesterday. To perk my mood, I took some time doing a more interesting makeup look. I did a green to yellow ombre lip with some glitter on top, because why not? The lighting makes the colors look pretty pigmented, but these specific lippies aren't too opaque. Granted, they came in little clam shells which means I'm digging for product on a lip brush and that can thin things out. Regardless, the look was fun. I really want to wear more unconventional lip colors, and have all of these beauties on the way. I don't think these specific green and yellow hues are the best for doing ombre, but it was fun to experiment with this look.
I had the best eyebrow wax of my life yesterday. I was amazed at how much it lifted my mood. It was the first time my skin didn't break out afterwards. Juut Salon in St. Paul is the place to go. I didn't think they were that messy, but a simple groom and trim did wonders for my facial structure.
I've been doing a ton of research on moisturizers and primers for oily skin, and I picked up the Shiseido and Becca products at Sephora yesterday. I absolutely adore them both, and it's only day two of wear. The moisturizer sinks into the skin creating this really smooth texture over the face, but isn't slippery like other moisturizers, even ones that are oil free. The one downside to the Shiseido moisturizer is that there is no SPF. The Becca primer works for any skin type, and I found that with these two products, my foundation looked better and had a more resilient wear time. The feeling both products left on my skin was really unique. Smooth without being powdery or velvety.
That doesn't mean my skin didn't get oily. It does, it did, and we just have to embrace those nuances. Frankly, I actually love my oily skin but what I love more is finding products that work with it and not against it.
