I did a dark pinkish-purple eye look and threw some gold shimmer on top of the eyelid. It worked well across the entire day: morning, a brunch date, a bowling party and a nightcap.
Am I really four posts away from completing this project? Wow. Absolutely astounding. In four days it'll be the third anniversary. And I'll be done by then!
Finishing this project has given me a lot of zest, but it's also coincided with a bad bout of the winter blues. I've been weighed down under a prominent and somewhat sudden depressive state, where everything feels muted and more difficult than should be. I'm constantly exhausted and I feel like joy is hard to find, even though life is good and there are some exciting things coming down the road very soon.
But, that's life. And that is a huge lesson this project taught me. Life gets in the way. We get in the way of ourselves. Things get pushed back, deadlines change, plans fall apart. I thought I'd finish this thing in 365 consecutive days. Nearly three years later, meaning an average of 100 posts a year (weird to put it like that), I'm finally near the end and I feel a mixture of sadness, pride, and wonder.
The important thing is that we finish. That we complete the follow through. It's okay if things don't pan out accordingly, but find a way to rework the plan so you can achieve the end result. Be gentle and understanding with yourself and with others. As long as you finish what you started (if that's your intent), don't judge yourself (or others) too harshly if the road to completion diverges, crumbles, or leads you into weird territory.
