When I was getting ready for work on this day, I ended up getting cut at Haute Dish. For a moment I was bummed out but then I thought to myself, "You know what, it's Friday, let me get sparkly and get on with the day." A few minutes later, I sought to pick up a shift at my other job. This all happened after I applied the glitter. I don't think turquoise eyeliner and sparkles are too in line with the modern farmhouse vibe of Heirloom, but as the kids say, "do you, boo." And it worked out. I'm still finding remnants of the glitter all over the place, by the way.
The look started out simple enough. The eyeshadow base is sort of a warm, mauvey purple and then I ran wild on the glitter train after I got cut. I shaded in the crease with a dark plum, highlighted the brow bone with a nude pigment, and tapped on metallic turquoise pigment before the glitter to enhance the bluish sparkle of the look.
Even though I'm a recent convert to CoverFX for my foundation, I reached for some other foundation palettes for this look. The Makeup Forever Flash Palette lets me adjust my tonal needs depending on how my skin is looking. I use the salmon color for under-eye color correction, and a bit of yellow and gold mixed with the Cinema Secrets palette colors to warm up the foundation. A palette knife is used to scrape some product from each pan and then I mix on my fingertips to blend together and warm up the creams before applying to my skin. I love the coverage and combination of Makeup Forever and Cinema Secrets.
For the lips, I actually had a bright red pout that ended up fading throughout the afternoon as I drank my tea. "Cruella" ended up sticking like a lip liner and the Korres product faded into a lovely pink stain. Big fan. Admittedly, the combo of sparkly eyes and shrieking red lips was a bit too brash for me. It was like the 80s came back into my room for a moment.
The combination of this cozy, oversized grandma sweater (that I got in Haifa) with party makeup is an odd juxtaposition. My face says "let's get lit" but my outfit says "stay home and drink tea".
I think I got glitter in my tea.
