I tried a modified topknot for the first time in my life, and I really like how it turned out/looks on me. I wish the camera had captured it more fully. Unfortunately the style isn't work-friendly due to long hair (and if the weather is humid AF, I want all hair off my neck regardless) but it's a cute style nonetheless.
Anyway, I'm still obsessed with dewy summer skin and glistening, golden tones. So flattering, so gentle and so beautiful. I used two new products for this look. The balm highlighters from Glossier are really incredible products. They twist up and have a clear balm in the center of the shimmer portions. Quartz is a pale pink and Topaz is a deep, warm bronze. I bought both colors since my skin changes so drastically each season. For this look, I mixed the two colors together over my primer and blended them together with a Beautyblender. The foundation gets layered on top and then when that gets blended out with the sponge, the top layer is diffused enough that the base layer of shimmer comes through. The skin is so dynamic as far as tonal ranges, so I love this method for maintaining that complexity.
Once the skin is where I like it to be, I define with just a bit of bronzer and some blush to add color to the cheeks. To me, this is the ideal base for my makeup, and all other parts fall into place just perfectly.
