Wanted to do a simple, neutral look but not by using the normal brown and tan palettes. I used some lovely purple eyeshadows in varying hues to create a light eye and then a fun periwinkle liner for a pop of pastel. Initially I wanted to do a black and white eye (white with black cut crease) with periwinkle as an accent color amidst some very 60s Twiggy lashes. Unfortunately, I ran out of time and improvised to create a playful, wearable springy look.
The YSL balm I'm wearing is incredibly awesome, moisturizing and luscious. My hairdresser recommended it to me, and I got a sample from Sephora. Shortly thereafter, I purchased a full size. It's incredibly luxurious since it's on the high end, but it's unlike any balm I've tried and leaves a pretty wash of color while keeping the lips soft and supple.
I also picked up a sample of MAC Oil Control lotion. There's a little Grab-and-Go section at the register area of MAC stores where you can buy small sizes of various products, and their sizes are hella generous for being smaller portions. I have oily skin and am always looking for a new oil control product. The MAC stuff is really nice. It's got a good, creamy texture to it but doesn't feel greasy, and it has a really nice smell. This might sound weird, but I LOVE how MAC products smell, especially the cleansing towelettes and now this lotion. It's just this really light, clean smell that is so signature to their products. I'd recommend this if you have oily skin! I've been playing around with it being my main moisturizer, but also as a secondary moisturizer. Haven't seen much of a difference thus far, so only time will tell!
Lastly, I want to tout the awesomeness of the Sephora brand eyeliners. Strawberry Macaroon (which I'm wearing smudged on my lower lash line) is a beautiful, shimmery pale pink that would look beautiful as a highlighter on cool-skinned women (or dudes, can't discriminate). The pencils are $10 and the pigmentation, application and color payoff are phenomenal. They do dry pretty quickly, so in the event you'd choose to use it as a highlighter or some other way where it would need blending or smudging, make sure you do it quickly using either body heat or a damp sponge to keep it malleable! I thought this color paired nicely with the blue/purple/sorta grey eyeshadow and liner combo. 1-2 punch. Blamaram. Okay, I'm done.
