I look so pale in these photos! How unnatural (for me).
As you know, I love vampy lips. I recently ordered from and subsequently reviewed a small company's lip products and fell in looooove. This color is a perfect satiny blackish-purple. I kept the look simple by making everything else very neutral so the lips were the focal point. Dewy skin and shimmery eyes offset the flatter nature of this color, but a hint of balm smoothed it out and prevented chapped lips.
Good lip care is essential for a harsh winter. When the weather gets cold, I like to up my water intake, exfoliate my lips every other day, slather them with a lanolin-rich balm before bedtime, and avoid chewing the frayed skin as much as possible (which is tough). Healthy lips are essential for winter lip makeup if your climate is cruel and unforgiving. Nobody ever looked good in lipstick with chapped lips underneath.
