Okay. Deep breaths...BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOREVER TO FINALLY GET THIS LOOK ONTO THE INTERNET OMFG *faints*
If you've ever wondered what it is I do for work, my job as a shared project coordinator has me herding things along at TEN7 Interactive, a Drupal shop located in the North Loop. Also, see tee shirt. Because duh.
TEN7 participates in Drupal community activities frequently, one of which is the annual Twin Cities Drupal Camp. We not only sponsored this year, but attended as a whole team and many of us gave presentations (myself included with my project manager in crime, Tiffany- watch it here if you like). I had a super duper time, but honestly was mostly stoked for the killer makeup I planned two weeks in advance.
The TEN7 color palette has primary hues of dark grey, black, white, and a bright yellow-green. I took my direction from the branding and applied it as follows:
•matte grey shadow on the lid, blended up to crease where it fades at brow bone
•matte brown in the crease for some subtle depth
•sparkling white shadow as highlight at the brow bone
•black liner in a winged shape for that classic flair
•matte white liner, acting as a base for neons and as standalone white
•neon green and yellow mixed together and painted over the white wing
•same color mixture applied lightly at lower lash line for additional color
Doing this look was a bit more frustrating than I anticipated, only because of the Inglot gel liner. It seemed a bit stiff and wasn't as fluid as I was hoping for. I'll need to work with it some more to build up a familiarity with its consistency and dry time. Unfortunately, it made my white wings a bit rounded and messy at the edges, but I cleaned as best I can and honestly it wasn't a huge folly- more an annoyance.
All in all, I LOVED wearing this combo and I got a ton of compliments. Even bossman gave a thumbs up. It was sophisticated enough for speaker status, just colorful enough to be playful not clownish, and strong enough to last through a hot ass day and night of commiserating with Drupalites by sunlight and bonfire.
Note to self: green lipstick next year.
