Here I am writing this post well over a month later since this look debuted, and the first thought in my head is that: most lipstick names are stupid. If it were up to me, I'd call this color Bitchin' Flamingo because that's way cooler.
Since I'm so far behind these days, details from looks past usually escape me. I do, however, remember this day pretty clearly. It was a Saturday, I'd picked up a shift at the restaurant, and the reason for the hanger on the wall is because I'd been photographing some clothing I once aspired to sell but instead donated to a friend. I'm pretty sure my mom also came over this day.
Since moving to my new place, it's surreal to look at these photos styled the way they are because I no longer occupy that space. Thus, the photos act as some weird proxy element that glues together a life once lived to a life just started. It's not as dramatic as it sounds, more so a peculiar observation. Speaking of...I have to figure out the most ideal way to photograph myself in the new space. I'm doing so much putting together still that I don't feel 100% settled in or familiar enough with the lighting situation to pick a smart spot. What's a good solution if the natural light is an issue? I'm sure there's a good lighting mechanism I could get, so if any of you photog friends are reading this I'd love your input.
Lastly, I just made an Instagram account for my makeup adventures. You can find me as makeupbynaseem.
Tata for now from the future to the past! Or, something...
