I love holidays because of the predetermined color palettes that then dictate my nail polish (partially shown), clothing (also partially shown), and makeup (very shown, obvs). To take a closer look at what's on my nails (if you care), peep this top coat which was paired with some good old red, white, and blue solid colors.
I absolutely loved doing this look! The glittery cat eye is probably my favorite element. I did think about doing red glitter lips, honestly. After I applied the white and blue eyeshadows, I painted the cat eye on both lids using the Stila liquid liner (which is stellar) to establish the winged shape. Next, I took a thin eyeliner brush and painted on the glitter primer from inner corner to halfway over the black line. I dipped the brush into the glitter and then patted/swiped the sparkly stuff onto the line to create the ombre effect. There was minimal fallout, which you can plan for by holding a tissue under your eye as you work with shadow and glitter.
This is also the third day I used the airbrush foundation. We went out of town for the day and I wanted something that'd last all day and night without melting off my face, although the day wasn't as humid as Minnesota summer days are often known to be. I just can't believe how wonderful airbrush foundation is for my oily skin- it does. not. budge.
